Guidelines for Abstract Submission

All abstracts will be peer-reviewed by Steering Committee members according to the following criteria:
 
1. Contribution to the field (e.g., enhances understanding of basic mechanisms, factors that affect patient performance with a cochlear implant, new approaches or methods)
2. Quality of research (e.g., design, rigor, insightfulness)
3. Subject matter: complementary to the program/important area not addressed by the program/provocative idea to present.

Accepted abstracts will be included in the Conference Program. Abstracts must be no longer than one page and meet the guidelines listed below:
• The font should be Arial 12 point (15 cpi).
• Left and right hand margins: 1.5" (to allow for binding); top margin: 1"; bottom margin: no less than 1".
• The title should appear in bold, capital letters, centered at the top of the page. After the title, leave a blank line, then type the name(s) of the author(s) in plain text, centered on the page.
• Include the first name, middle initial and last name of each author, and underline the presenting author. Leave a blank line.
• Next indicate the institution or affiliation, city, state (if applicable), and country. For multiple authors with different affiliations, denote these by numbers. Leave another blank line
• Type the body of the abstract. Indent each paragraph. Do not leave a blank line between paragraphs. If appropriate, include acknowledgment of funding source(s).

Abstracts should be emailed in Word or plain text format to:  CIAP2011Abstracts@gmail.com All accepted abstracts will be included in the Conference Program booklet. All corresponding authors will be sent information on the status of their abstracts by June 1, 2011.



Poster Size

This year there will be two sizes for posters due to the large number of submissions and in order to accommodate the largest number of posters while minimizing rejections. Authors will be notified of their poster size by mid-June.

A "Single Side" poster is 4ft x 8ft (1.2m x 2.4m). A "Double Poster" (two posters on one board) will be 4ft x 8 ft (1.2m x 1.2m).
