Welcome
Conference on Implantable Auditory Prosthesis
The Conference on Implantable Auditory Prostheses (CIAP) is a series of
biennial international research conferences on cochlear implants and
auditory brainstem implants. CIAP provides a unique forum for the
presentation and discussion of fundamental scientific research from a
diversity of basic science disciplines, as well as input from clinicians,
engineers, and technical staff. The close interaction among leading
scientific researchers from around the world facilitates the exchange of
up-to-the-minute research results.

CIAP Goes Virtual!
News
Due to ongoing concerns about the health risks of the COVID-19 global
pandemic and associated travel restrictions, the organizing committee of
CIAP has decided to make our 2021 conference a virtual meeting.
The virtual meeting will consist of live-streamed podium sessions, chat
rooms to discuss pre-recorded short talks and posters, company
presentations & device workshops, mentoring sessions, and social get-
togethers. These different types of sessions will be spread out and
interleaved over the originally-planned 4.5 days of the conference (July 11-
16, 2021), to help minimize video-conferencing fatigue and to facilitate
participation from people across many time zones.
Although this will be a different format from usual, we are excited about
the possibility of still gathering together to share the latest cochlear
implant and auditory brainstem implant research developments at the
premiere conference in the field, and we are hopeful that this format will
allow participation from an even wider audience than usual.
We will soon be providing more details about the session topics, invited
speakers, and proposed conference schedule – stay tuned!
